The GAPA is a 501(c)(6) Non-Profit Organization. Georgia’s Physician Assistants (PAs) are medically trained and licensed to provide high-quality healthcare, treat illnesses, plan prevention strategies, and write prescriptions. PAs practice medicine as part of a physician-directed medical team, and over 4,000 PAs in Georgia are making healthcare more accessible every day. The GAPA helps to advocate for the profession by pushing for advancements in legislation, providing continuing medical education to the providers of the state and supporting the eight PA programs in the state of Georgia. The PAs of GA have worked tirelessly on the frontlines of this pandemic to provide accessible and quality healthcare to their communities.
